Keeping
TRIP Open
As
a Registered Charity, keeping TRIP working and providing
services to older people, the disabled and rurally
isolated is an ongoing financial struggle.
With
cuts in local, district and county council budgets,
funding is becoming ever more difficult. TRIP carries
out numerous paid contracts for Devon County Council
and other bodies to ensure our services can continue
to operate. Currently our work includes:
A
school run to the Honiton special needs school, covering
the area around Seaton. We also provide transport
for children to Honiton Primary School.
School
meals delivery to three local schools.
Administration
of the F5 Fare Car service around the Honiton area.
Providing
a single point of contact for transport information
and advice for people to obtain transport to medical
appointments at district hospitals.
TRIP
is paid by various councils for providing these services,
BUT, each year there is still a shortfall.
How
can YOU help?
There
are many ways that you, as an individual, can help.
Make
a donation towards our general costs or for a specific
project. Remember that every donation, however small,
helps to make sure TRIP keeps on serving our local
communities. If you are a tax payer then please gift
aid your donation so TRIP can claim back the tax-
it gives TRIP an extra 28% on top of your donation.
Please call into the office for the necessary form.
Do
you have the odd spare hour or two? If so how about
helping to put on fundraising events- TRIP is always
looking out for more people to help to organise events
or to help at them. Do you think you could organise
an annual garden fete, evening fundraising event,
open day or similar? If so please contact the office
on 01404 46529 to offer your help.
On
a more sober note, have you considered legacy giving?
If you name TRIP as a beneficiary in a will, not only
does this reduce any inheritance tax liability it
also enables TRIP to benefit from other tax advantages
making any gift even more worthwhile.
Please
let us have your help to make sure our valuable local
services continue.
