The Honiton Voluntary Car Service provides transport to medical appointments for people living in Honiton,etc etc and other villages in the area. Destinations include Honiton surgery and hospital, Axminster hospital, Exeter, Dorchester and Taunton hospitals, plus local chiropodist, dentist and opticians appointments.

The service is provided by local volunteers and is booked and coordinated through the TRIP office on

01404 46529.

Charges are based on mileage covered (with a small contribution towards the cost of administering the service) and are reimbursed to the drivers. There is a minimum charge of £2.50 for the return journey, usually the driver will wait for the passenger and will then take them home. Payment is made directly to the driver at the time of the journey. People on certain benefits may be entitled to reclaim a portion of the cost for the journey to hospital appointments at the hospital main desk, the driver will give a receipt if required.

This service is operated on a charitable basis (Charity Number 1082544) and is part funded by donations from local groups and individuals.
