What is Shopmobility and how does it work???????

Shopmobility is the hire of manual and powered wheelchairs and scooters to people suffering from either short or long term mobility problems. It is there for visitors to Honiton to enable them to go shopping or just to get around in the town. It is also for people who have mobility problems and either need to get around at home or when they are away on holiday.

Equipment is available for short or longer term hire and use is not restricted to elderly people. Users can be younger people with either temporary (broken leg) or more permanent mobility difficulties.

People who wish to use the service should contact the TRIP office to book equipment, have some training on how the equipment works and then can get out and see the town. Proof of identity is required when collecting the equipment.

Hire Charges are

£2.50 per day for a manual wheelchair

£5.00 per day for powered equipment

Reductions are made for longer term hire

There is a £10 refundable deposit taken on collection of equipment.

Hire charges are put towards the cost of maintaining and insuring the equipment.

TRIP also carries a stock of aids for daily living to help with mobility and age related problems.

We also sell both new and used scooters plus manual and powered wheelchairs. Servicing and repairs on powered equipment can be arranged and punctures can be repaired.

All our equipment has been donated and we would appreciate any additional manual wheelchairs and powered scooters to help cope with demand.

To book equipment or for more information, please phone the TRIP office on 01404 46529
