This is a door to door easy access and wheelchair friendly minibus service that makes regular trips throughout our area to pick up isolated people of all ages, people with mobility issues and older people, from their homes and either takes them to the shops, for longer trips to regional towns or for day trips out during the week and at the weekends.
Drivers will help load shopping onto the vehicles and will help take it to people’s front doors if required. All journeys are door to door and, for the longer outings, we offer an exciting range of destinations including regional towns, places of interest and drives over the moors and pub lunches. Items of mobility equipment, ranging from rollators to scooters, are able to be taken on the vehicles if required.
These trips can make a real difference to people who are alone at home as they enable people to obtain food and other services, help maintain social contacts with old friends and to make new friends with others who go on the trips. People can also re-visit places from their past and see how they’ve changed. Weekday trips usually allow at least two hours at the destination, weekend trips usually allow 3 to 4 hours at the destination. Friends and family are always welcome to accompany people on the trips.
